Two Locations Rooted in History
Per Diem was born out of an abandoned whitewashed café venue and reinvented by it owners to the lively lunch, happy hour and dinner venue that it is today. It embodies the style and ambiance of San Francisco in two unique upscale venues in the heart of the City.
Interpreting a space to bring out the design characteristics while also capturing the flavor of the neighborhood is a strength of the ownership team. The California-influenced menu brings epicurean tastes to its patrons while its sophisticated but simple cocktail program appeals to downtown professionals. Per Diem’s offerings of rich flavors and mid century décor entices patrons looking for social meeting quarters or a savored dining experience.
Financial District Location
The Financial District location is a tribute to the era that seeded California’s dramatic population and economic boom. The 1849 Gold Rush flooded San Francisco with new inhabitants seeking fortune and transformed what is today’s Financial District into the lively, bustling streets that have evolved into the blocks of today’s office towers.
Per Diem’s floor-to-ceiling dark woods, exposed concrete, steel beams, wood-wrapped marble bar, large pillars, and a historic finishes are a throwback to this era. This dapper outfitted restaurant perfectly suits the surrounding Financial District workforces and business travelers alike.
Transit Center Location
The Transbay Terminal is the largest transportation hub on the West Coast . It has been called the Grand Central Station of the West Coast and Per Diem’s second location is right in the heart of it at 41 Minna Street. It incorporates the same historical elements of San Francisco found in our original Financial District location, and delivers the same caliber of delicious Califronia-Influenced cuisine together with a sophisticated cocktail program
